Weber State Debate

Why Weber State University?

1. WSU provides a nationally ranked quality level of instruction:

Forbes magazine recently ranked the top 600 colleges and universities (out of roughly 5,000 institutions) on the basis of their ability to provide a quality undergraduate learning experience, and Weber State ranked an impressive #248...ahead of University of Southern California (#281), University of Oregon (#290),  Utah Valley University (#346), Arizona State University (#350):

These ranking only confirm what many already know - Weber State University has a strong academic reputation built on a long 120 year history of institutional excellence:

2.  Living Here Won't Break the Bank

If you choose to live off campus, South Ogden was recently ranked by Money Magazine as a "contender" for among the best cities in the nation when measured by affordability, livability, and over-all happiness:

In addition, the greater Ogden municipal area was recently ranked #10 in the nation for "best-for-your-buck" livability - low cost to rent, purchase food and other goods.

And yes, these results apply to college kids living in a college town. Ogden, Utah is among the most affordable "college towns" in the United States:

3.Tuition is Low & Funding Opportunities are High

For all costs, out-the-door (including room and board in our brand new dorms), a year at Weber State costs $8431.00 for full-time students with Utah residency status.  For those with residency in another state, it costs $15,897.00 per year.  This is before grants and scholarships.

4.  The Campus is Brand New and State of the Art

Weber State University has been totally remodeled for the 21st Century, with the newly constructed Elizabeth Shaw Hall for the Humanities (where WSU Debate is located), a newly constructed Student Union, new dormitories, a redesigned pedestrian mall area, and a gorgeous new entrance.  If you have not seen WSU in a few years, you may not recognize it.
